Are you cool enough for some wintertime fishing?!

RI DEM is stocking one to one and a half-pound, hatchery-raised trout in the following waterways from Tuesday, January 15th through Thursday, January 16:

• Meadowbrook Pond, Richmond
• Silver Spring Pond, North Kingstown
• Big Round Top Pond, Burrillville
• Upper Melville Pond, Portsmouth

A current fishing license and a Trout Conservation Stamp are required to keep or possess a trout. The daily creel and possession limit for trout is two from December 1, 2018 through February 28, 2019.

Try Carp fishing with Marshmallow and Maise you could be surprised with a 30lb. fresh water fish ! Freshen up with new fishing line and please use circle hooks to eliminate a injury. If you are going to fill a void and try for one of the big carp remember, ( NO) lip lock tool or lifting from their delicate gill plates which may be fatal. Use the Carp nets that will save the fish for another fisher.
