 CT DEEP : Environmental Conservation (EnCon) Police Recognition Ceremony, May 17

What:                   Connecticut’s Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) Commissioner Robert Klee will honor 21 State Environmental Conservation (EnCon) Police Officers, four Special Conservation Officers, and three civilians for their service and heroism at the 2016 EnCon Awards Ceremony.

DEEP Commissioner Robert Klee and Director of DEEP EnCon Police, Colonel Kyle Overturf will present awards to 21 outstanding EnCon police officers, four Special Conservation Officers, and three civilians.
 
Awards will be given in the following categories:  Medal for Outstanding Service, Medal for Meritorious Service, Boating Officer of the Year, Shikar-Safari Officer of the Year, Unit Citation and Lifesaving Award.
 
Connecticut EnCon Police Officers are appointed by the Commissioner of the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) to enforce the state’s fish & game, boating, recreational vehicle and park & forest laws and regulations as well as a majority of the state’s motor vehicle and criminal laws and regulations on a statewide basis. These officers are also appointed by the Commissioner of the Department of Public Safety with full police powers on all DEEP owned and managed lands and facilities.
