Fred Bear once said “Go afield with a good attitude, with respect for the wildlife you hunt and for the forest and fields in which you walk. Immerse yourself in the outdoor experience. It will cleanse your soul and make you a better person.” The United Bow Hunters of Rhode Island has taken this to heart in their dedication to protecting and giving back to a human heritage passed down from generation to generation. As a registered 501(C)(3) nonprofit organization the UBRI has dedicated their efforts not only in protecting our rights as hunters, but also to lend a hand in the community to help those in need.

Try Carp fishing with Marshmallow and Maise you could be surprised with a 30lb. fresh water fish ! Freshen up with new fishing line and please use circle hooks to eliminate a injury. If you are going to fill a void and try for one of the big carp remember, ( NO) lip lock tool or lifting from their delicate gill plates which may be fatal. Use the Carp nets that will save the fish for another fisher.

New England wild turkey hunting is producing longer beards this year with the lack of last years snow cover.

Black Bear sightings are on the rise in Connecticut and Rhode Island and with a mild winter and no hunting season in either State the sightings will increase. Do not attract them to your property is the best defense.
